چکیده

The purpose of this study was to compare muscle force contributions ankle joint compression and anteroposterior shear forces between people with chronic instability (CAI) healthy controls (CON) during an unanticipated cutting task. Eleven CAI 11 CON performed task as three-dimensional motion capture, ground reaction (GRF), activation data were collected. A musculoskeletal modeling used calculate talocrural parse out the these from ankle-spanning muscles GRF. Independent t-tests for statistical analysis. People exhibited greater anterior peaks early (p = 0.048, d 0.98) late 0.017, 1.21) stance compared CON. difference in appeared arise GRF contribution 0.026, 1.12) group, whereas lateral gastrocnemius 1.12), medial 0.98), tibialis posterior 1.22), fibularis brevis 0.035, 1.05), longus 0.023, 1.15). exhibit shear, but not compressive differences result passive active lower leg stance, respectively.

The effects of Kinesio tape on compressive and shear forces of ankle joint during single-leg landing for men elite volleyball players with chronic ankle instability

The chronic ankle sprain is the most common injury among athletes, and using the tape is one way to prevent it. The aim of the present study was to determine the effect of the Kinsio-tape on the compressive and shear mechanical forces of the ankle joint during single-leg jump landing. 12 subjects were selected based on inclusion criteria. Subjects were asked to perform landing after jump in th...

Repeatability of Ground Reaction Force during Jump-Landing in Volleyball Players with Functional Ankle Instability

Background and Aims: The accurate mechanisms of ankle instability cannot be assessed in the absence of reliable knowledge about ground reaction force (GRF) variables. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the test-retest reliability of GRF variables during forward and lateral jump-landing in volleyball players with functional ankle instability (FAI). Methods: Eighteen professional volle...

Mechanical Joint Laxity Associated With Chronic Ankle Instability

CONTEXT Lateral ankle sprains can manifest into chronic mechanical joint laxity when not treated effectively. Joint laxity is often measured through the use of manual stress tests, stress radiography, and instrumented ankle arthrometers. PURPOSE To systematically review the literature to establish the influence of chronic ankle instability (CAI) on sagittal and frontal plane mechanical joint ...
